Synchronisation transitions in supply chain networks

In this paper, we examine the transition process between synchronous and desynchronous states in supply chain networks, which is strongly correlated to network topology. While most research has focused on merits of steady-state synchronisation behaviour, very little been published interdependencies structural dynamic properties networks. Synchronisation processes are described by a variety coherent state dynamics that exhibit different paths. research, developed new coupled oscillator model analyse evaluate these transient more detail. Canonical models first described, including hub-and-spoke, tree-mesh, tree topologies, then applied real-world problems automotive industry. We found specific transitions networks such as explosive delayed synchronisation. particular, show (i) hub-and-spoke network, number suppliers per hub affects only at larger frequency spreads, (ii) scale-free with short path lengths generated power law connectivity unable synchronise long critical cluster coefficient exceeded, (iii) interruptions cause nonlinear losses for upstream function interruption time.
